Hello, November - Weekending

Even though it's November, we still saw 91 degrees in the Bay area yesterday, yuck! We got teased there for a few weeks with jeans weather and now I'm excited for it to come back full time!

Friday

We had our 3rd lock in with the church/ranch kids and it was a blast. Since I ended up sick the week after the last one I made sure to catch a few ZZZs during the night and all but a couple of the kids were caught sleeping into the wee hours of the morning so everyone had the same thought, apparently.

We don't start the evening until 9:00 with the kids, so that means the adults can come early and play games on their own. I played a little black jack with chips and it really is a game of luck for this girl.

We also set up a craft table and had the kids and adults decorate masquerade masks before setting up the photo booth.

We tried out a green screen for the first time and while it's cool and I'm getting faster deleting the background, next time we'll just have a cool back drop!

Saturday

on my way home with only about two hours of sleep, I got stuck in "delayed" traffic due to a 5k, but I'm sorry if my car has sat in PARK for at least 15 minutes that's more than a delay. I was not the only person that got pissed and drove through the race cones to get out of that stupid race traffic and I'm trying to wait until I'm a little calmer to send an email letting the organizers know they should have just shut the road down. The other side traffic was moving smoothly. RAGE!

After I finally made it home, I slept until about 3:00 and after getting ready stopped by Ulta with my coupon and headed to my parents for trick or treaters and dinner. We didn't get the first round of trick-or-treaters until after 7:00 and in previous years they would show up at 5:00 so we thought we weren't going to get very many so mom was throwing HUGE handfuls of candy into the kids bags.

Then when they kept coming we got low and started handing out light sabers, lol. The kids thought it was cool and dad got them wholesale so it was a fun Halloween night. I still did not watch Hocus Pocus, so I'll need to be doing that before Christmas completely takes over.

Sunday

Ummm, I got caught up on Nashville, made some delicious Copycat Olive Garden Chicken Gnocchi and finished up some design work. It really was productive but nothing to brag about, lol.

Mom and I are headed to the new Tampa Premium Outlets today. Hopefully the crowds went this weekend and it won't be too busy!

How was your weekend?!

  4. Oh man I used to LOVE lock-ins! I was the kid who was proud I never slept. I've had that Olive Garden recipe pinned forever but never tried it, thanks for reminding me I should do that!

  6. Love the photo booth picture!!! When I lived in Atlanta, I used to hate race days. It messed up the flow for hours and hours and it was so ridiculous!!! Hope you found some fun stuff at the outlets!

  8. That traffic would annoy me! Why not block off the street rather than just expect all the cars to sit still?!!?!

  9. I missed watching Hocus Pocus this year too. Oh well. The shut in sounds fun though I would totally lose in Blackjack too.

  10. I always hate when running a 5k & see cars waiting - the city people should be aware enough of races to have detours ready to go.

  11. Events with photo booths get an A+ from me.

I hate when towns don't do proper detouring for races.

  12. Definitely debating having a photo booth at our wedding... people always have so much fun with them!
Hope you did some major damage at the outlets!

  13. ugh that makes me so mad! i have been on the other side so many times, with drivers just getting fed up and driving through. it is SO dangerous, and it annoys me so much. they should just close the bloody road instead of endangering the runners and pissing off the drivers.
