Confessions #23

I'm sure I'm not the only one that this has happened to, but you're searching the web for something (in this case colorful hair dying) and you come across an AWESOME new blog that you just can't get enough of their stuff and you have to be super careful not to pin every page and comment on old posts, lol. It's happened to you too, right?

I've got a girl crush...

Well, this is a girl that from the surface couldn't be more opposite than me and I think that's what I find so fascinating about her. Kaylah over at The Dainty Squid has not had dirty blond hair in over EIGHT years! If you follow me on Pinterest you might have noticed me posting the peek-a-book pink hair that I'm going for this month.

In other news...

Our weekend trip that has yet to appear on the blog was NOT a trip to Charleston, hence the massive rain and flooding they experienced due to hurricane Joaquin. On Thursday we decided to head North West or is it Northwest? While we've driven through Mobile and New Orleans before we haven't really spent much time there and decided to do a few day trips to certain things we were interested in. I'm hoping to finish up that post for tomorrow...but I'm always unmotivated to share my trips due to the excessive pictures I take.

While spending HOURS in the car I did a little reflecting on $$$ making. I've been taking Helene's classes as she offers them, especially the free ones but did NOT sign up for the latest one that is Money making for the blog. My money making on the web has to do with working with authors and I love that I do there so much that I don't see money making on the blog taking off anytime soon. This is my outlet to be me at no cost and I'm struggling with wanting to put more time into the part of the web that's actually seeing profit.

With that being said I missed blogging and reading blogs while I was contemplating the blog world and can't see myself completely stopping even though my first thought it to do just that. Why are you guys so awesome?

One of my favorite drinks at open bars with simple mixers is Patron and Ginger Ale. Normally I don't drink it too fast, but after making one for myself last night I was OUT. Going to bed at 8:30 was awesome.

Last Monday I mentioned feeling under the weather and while it may have only been allergy/sinus drainage, it took me home on Wednesday early from work and I slept for about four hours before I got up and did some DIY book stuff for my Harlequin party.

I love Pumpkin season because that means my peppermint mocha season is close and they have the iced coffee version available. This is what the bottle looks like this year and I'm already ready for a second one.

I'm headed to Orlando this weekend for the UCF game, Halloween Horror Nights and a weekend away with S. Yes, HHN which is crazy since I'm scared of literally EVERYTHING but I watched some Youtubes of the scare zones and am planning on acting nonchalant so they leave me alone. I've done a haunted house once and it was okay because I knew they were "people" behind the scary costumes and costumes aren't as scary as the still images or movies, to me, so hopefully this will be awesome!

Do you have some confessions to share?

Alanna & Company

  1. WHAT? I've not seen that Starbucks peppermint mocha yet!!!!
Tell me you're doing a post on your book page pumpkin!!!

  2. I loved Helene's classes. I'm still working on improving my content before I really want to monetize so I didn't sign up for her latest class, but maybe sometime in the future! Thanks for linking up!

  3. i love when i find a new blog to stalk! haha sometimes i'm just like how did it take me so long to find you?!
I attended Helene's first thingy, and I meant to do the second but I wasn't able to attend live and I haven't caught up yet, if it's even still available. I don't mind making a little $ via affiliate links, but I really have no desire to make a ton of money via blogging, but that's just me.

  4. Yay for an 8:30 bedtime that sounds fabulous! Sorry your trip changed routes, but looks like you had a fabulous time :)

  5. Oh wow I have not seen the Peppermint Mocha yet! I know am going on a hunt for this stuff! I just love this flavor combo! Stopping by from Humpday Confessions!

  6. The peekaboo pink would be pretty. I love haunted houses, hope it's not too scary for you but that is half the fun!

  7. I make a little money off of my blog, but it's passive income. They come to me. I don't have the desire to monetize beyond that. That's not what interests me and keeps me doing it.

I'm glad you made the most of your trip even though your destination got changed.

  8. I didn't get a chance to catch the money making webinar. I would have been interested in that!!! I didn't learn anything from the one I did catch last week. I think it was probably geared more for newbies. You cant quit blogging because I would miss you! Duh!!! Haha! I love your DIY!!!! And I think the peek a boo pink can be super cute!!! I am boring and cant pull it off, but you totally could!

  9. I wonder if Walmart has the peppermint mocha from Starbucks, because that is a total need in my life at this point!

  10. I cant wait to see how you change up your hair - it's going to look awesome! xo, Biana -BlovedBoston

  11. I had a hot pink peek-a-bo look for a little while. It is actually my most re-pinned item on pinterest. I guess others liked it too :)

  12. I am totally with you on while I enjoy pumpkin spice it means we are THAT much closer to red cup season and my delicious peppermint mocha! I can't wait!

  13. peppermint mochas are the devil! you can't just have one once a week but they're so high in calories!!!

  14. Uhm, I get girl crushes ALL the time! Girls are so much more fun to look at then guys sometimes... the clothes, the makeup - it's all just so interesting to see!!!
