Literary Ladies Check In

A book with a kickass female character - Rock Chick by Kristen Ashley

A book with a one word title. After by Anna Todd- I started this months ago and never got around to finishing it because other books came up. I'm counting Desertion by River Savage instead because I forgot this was coming out and I flew through it!

A suspenseful book – a mystery, a thriller, a book about revenge! Lady Luck by Kristen Ashley

Reading Now

A book that has been on your TBR list for a year or more - The Coincidence of Callie and Kayden by Jessica Sorenson has been on my TBR since it was a Top 20 Goodreads choice for Romance4.n 2013.

Non US Author (mandatory!) - Grey by EL James
What can I say, I wanted to see what was going on in his mind. What I'm hearing so far is kind of similar to the book You (obsession, which we knew) but this is a love story and doesn't involve the possible murders that You alludes to.

A book written by a comedian or celebrity – or even a memoir if neither of those are your jam. Spinster by Kate Bolick

To Be Read

A YA book (mandatory!) - Lola and the Boy Next Door by Stephanie Perkins

A book that was recommended by a blogger (mandatory!) - Happy to be Alive, Because by Chelsea Jacobs, aka fellow Florida blogger over at The Girl Who Loved to Write.
I've had this book for months and being crazy addicted to the library it keeps getting pushed back, but no more!! Many bloggers have already read it and loved it so I can't wait to share in the story!

A book that is or will be a movie (or TV show) - Paper Towns by John Green. I think I read somewhere it was based in Orlando, which is cool.

A book about Summer, with Summer in the title, or in any way related to Summer because this is a Summer challenge! The Summer of Firsts and Lasts by Terra Elan McVoy - I actually bought this because of the pink spine, and it works with this title, yay!! I'm changing this to Summerland by Elin Hilderbrand because it was on clearance at Barnes and Noble and the author was rec'd to me as a good one!

  1. I am glad to see someone else changing up their titles to read. I haven't changed my list yet but I have a feeling that I will be soon! Yay for books!

  2. yep, paper towns is based in orlando. i enjoyed it, it wasn't amazing but it was good. hope you like it as well.

  3. I've changed up my list, too, so you are not alone. I read Grey. I'd be interested to hear what your thoughts on it are once you finish.

  4. I changed some of my original choices as well. It happens :)

  5. You are kicking butt with the challenge already!! Lady Luck sounds interesting.

  6. I love to see what other people are reading! Some of these look great! I just finished reading The Light Between Oceans and I loved it, but I think for my next book I need something a little lighter!

  7. This made my day!!! Thanks for including me! Also, I had no idea Paper Towns was set in Orlando before I read it, and I kept having this weird feeling like, why does thing feel so familiar?! Have I read it before?? Before realizing it was the surroundings haha

  8. I love these kinds of posts because I always get great new suggestions for my reading list - off to place some holds on my library's website now!

  9. I love reading other people's lists- especially for this challenge because I'm still working on my own list!

  10. I absolutely loved the Coincidence of Callie and Kayden, I got so into the series, I hope you're enjoying it :)
