Single mom Anne Edmond can handle—and hand-make—just about anything. From table settings to party favors, floral arrangements to nursery décor, there is no project her creativity and a glue gun can’t tackle. But dating? That’s a whole ’nother story. Case in point: Mike Everett. He’s a gorgeous mechanic and known car-whisperer, a man who can work with auto parts like nobody’s business. And he has thrown a monkey wrench into Anne’s carefully-crafted life...
When you can do it together?
One look at Anne is enough for Mike to know that she’s no fixer-upper. She’s perfect just the way she is—and the chemistry between them works like a charm. Mike’s always been a no-strings kind of guy, but Anne’s impressive self-reliance—and gorgeous exterior—gives him pause. This time, a fast joyride just doesn’t seem like enough. But first he has to convince Anne that he means to take her all the way...

So I teased Start Me Up last month in my All About the Books February post but here I am to give you the whole spiel. I know Kerry also read Start Me Up and I'm anxious to see what her thoughts were.
This absolutely THE perfectly cute, light read for Summer. Low on the angst, plenty of chemistry.
I felt like Anne could be my BBFF I think is the acronym for a best blogging friend forever. I should preface that with the fact that I had no idea from the synopsis that she was a blogger. Not all party planners and creative people actually run blogs, but she does. She uses the blog side to further her party business and so many of us bloggers do that!
Anne and Mike make an almost instant connection and poor smitten Mike is sitting at this all adult females children's birthday party where the ladies are just swooning over him. He doesn't want to let Anne get away, and ultimately is absolutely wowed by her party planning enough that he recommends her for a job to the wife of one of his customers.
There was a lot of time spent, for Mike at least, where he worried why she wouldn't just come out and say she had a blog and I totally get that! How many times have I held back mentioning my blog until I feel comfortable with a guy? Or even a friend?
There's a sweet bonus at the end of this book too, the author shares a brownie recipe that's mentioned in the book. I tried them, they're delicious but if you get the book make sure to try them out for yourself!
At the end of it this was a 4.5 star book for me that I happily rounded up to FIVE stars! I'm looking forward to other things Nicole Michaels comes out with and will be checking out her Christmas romance in 10 months when that season rolls around.
Nicole has a giveaway going on TODAY only where she's giving away some of her favorite things, including a signed copy of Start Me Up, so make sure you check out her blog!
