I haven't had a complete weekend since June, other than my trip to Europe of course and boy did I love it.
Of course I've stayed for a night here or there, but having two nights away really makes a HUGE difference, don't you think?
Mom and I used to go to these weekend craft/scrapbook crops one to two times a year in Kansas because let's face it, there really isn't much else to do in the middle of nowhere. Anyway, this was our first one down here and it was a lot more low key than what we were used to back home, but that didn't stop us from having a great time!
We left Friday work a little early, but not early enough. What should have taken two and a half hours ended up taking a little over three thanks in part to the tool booth and it being a Holiday weekend, I presume. When we finally got there, they didn't have a place for us to check in, just a listing of who was at which table hanging on the door. We met our seat mates, a pair of friends that have been to several of these specific crops and they lived close enough to sleep at home each night.
Saturday morning we decided we'd start the morning with some shopping after we ate the included breakfast, which was fabulous but not picture worthy apparently because I didn't snap one. Not one picture of food this weekend guys, what is up with that? Right across from our hotel was an outlet mall, but it didn't open until 10 am so we headed to Michaels and found a Target, yay! What road trip is complete without Target?
Then after we hit up Michaels and Target, we headed to the outlets where I bought a few things. A scarf for my sister, a cute fall plate for decoration and some new Bare Minerals foundation and brush to try out.
Other than a quick run back to Michaels Saturday night and a stop for late dinner we spent the rest of the time crafting.
The craft room is open the ENTIRE time we're there from Friday at 6:00 pm to Sunday at 5:00 pm so you can come and go as you please. This pic was taken late Saturday night about 12:30 or 1:00 before we headed up to bed. The hotel we stayed at had nightly happy hour with complementary drinks and snacks for two hours and it was fabulous!
2// I had several mini 6x6 page kits I'd received for various reasons, from the Treasure Hunt or recipe nights that I needed to put together. Some as far back as 2009!
3// I worked on stationary and started the 10 letters for my 30 Before 30!
4// The Heidi Swapp marquee letters and signs have been consuming my thoughts and I finally picked up an ampersand so I couldn't wait to put it together!
I got quite a bit done, but wasn't entirely prepared and couldn't finish some things that I had planned on working on. I didn't end up taking my Europe stuff because I was afraid of bending the large 12x12 prints I had done so I'll work on that this week in the evenings!
Besides crafting and shopping I managed to finish two books, one was an audio book that I listened to while I was crafting away. I'm definitely a little obsessed with those audio books. I need to see if there's something I can get from Overdrive until my next Audible credit is available, lol.
We had such a great time and are already looking at the next weekend they have available. The girls we sat with mentioned sitting together if we do come again so we'll definitely be requesting them!
How was your weekend?
