Weekly Wrap Up - 1st Weekend in August!!!

Good Morning Friends!

I'm linking up with Rachael and Lisa this Monday and we hope you'll also be joining us for our Bag Lady Linkup tomorrow!!

Bag Lady Linkup

Now let's get into how my weekend went and then you can share yours with us!!

Friday night I came home from work, relieved and a little surprised that the weekend was already here. Having Monday off will do that to a girl. Anyway, I was surprised when my dad told me he brought home a Fitbit for me! I had started looking into them after Helene mentioned using hers on her trip and then reading her other posts about it. When I mentioned it to my dad he made a comment that they had been "giving them away" at work previously and he should still be able to get them for a discount, score!

I've been using it since Friday night, when mom and I went for a walk with it and as you can tell from the middle image (Saturday) if I don't take that walk my steps are very low. I love being able to track my sleep and I'm excited to see what my steps are like at work. I mean, I work on the second floor and we don't have an elevator so I go up and down them a lot!

If you're thinking about getting one and aren't sure...I'm joining with some other bloggers to give one away in a couple weeks!!

Saturday morning I woke up early, boo and decided I should spend the morning reading before I got to work on some design and blog stuff.

Before Jamaica Lane by Samantha Young is the third in the On Dublin Street series and while the second book didn't live up to the first, this one reminded me why I love Samantha's writing and this series.

Synopsis: One simple lesson in seduction between two friends can turn into so much more…

Despite her outgoing demeanor, Olivia is painfully insecure around the opposite sex—usually, she can’t get up the nerve to approach guys she’s interested in. But moving to Edinburgh has given her a new start, and, after she develops a crush on a sexy postgrad, she decides it’s time to push past her fears and go after what she wants.

Nate Sawyer is a gorgeous player who never commits, but to his close friends, he’s as loyal as they come. So when Olivia turns to him with her relationship woes, he offers to instruct her in the art of flirting and to help her become more sexually confident.

The friendly education in seduction soon grows into an intense and hot romance. But then Nate’s past and commitment issues rear their ugly heads, and Olivia is left broken-hearted. When Nate realizes he’s made the biggest mistake of his life, he will have to work harder than he ever has before to entice his best friend into falling back in love with him—or he may lose her forever…

Saturday afternoon I went to Wing House with A and we got excited talking about Europe. I stopped at Ulta, but didn't buy much. I really need to pick out a new foundation, but I really like to have them try it out on me so I've only ever done it at Clinique. Does anybody have a favorite that I can try out at a department store like Macy's?

I did a little simple designing for a Tumblr account, which I haven't used in years! Then I started re-reading Fifty with a book club of sorts before majorly crashing just before midnight.

Sunday was church as usual, and then we had our CORE meeting where we plan out our calendar for the rest of the year, so that's always fun but can get a little heated. Then I came home, and did some more designing. Worked on my #bagladylinkup post and planned out all of my posts for the month. Has anybody else seen the accent vlog linkup? I'm thinking I'll join in on that this week before the linkup closes!!

Now it's your turn to tell me about YOUR weekend!!

The Rachael Way

  4. That is awesome that you got a fitbit from your dad! I have the Fitbit One, but I think I would much rather have the flex. I don't use mine anymore because the holder ripped and it puts holes in my clothes.

My favorite foundation ever is Make Up Forever Matte Velvet. I get it from Sephora. They have this little handheld reader that can tell you what color it is that you need without them testing it on you if you didn't want that. Otherwise, department store foundation? Laura Mercier or Este Lauder are my go -to's before I discovered MUF.

  5. We would have so much fun with that Fitbit and looks like you are too. Sounds like such a motivator to get moving more, so hard after a long day of work sometimes.
