First, thanks to Charlene from Bisons to Buckeyes for sharing this video link on her blog recently. It brought tears to my eyes since we have have a Beagle that is very much a part of our family!
Warning this heartwarming/heartbreaking video may bring on some tears. If you want to donate here's the link.
Since we're not really sure how old Boomer is, I'll just let you know that about nine or ten years ago, my parents were looking for another family dog and they decided on getting a Beagle. We've never rescued an animal from a shelter...I know, we should have but it's just not something we ever did. Most of our dogs have been AKC registered and I think even though Boomer isn't ,that's still ingrained in my parents when they go looking for a dog.
So, our Beagle is getting older and I know someday we're going to have to say goodbye. This is me, trying to prepare for such a tragedy. I have looked into rescuing a Beagle, except he's stubborn, spoiled, selfish and I know when I do decide to get a dog at some point in the future for myself, I'll want a Beagle. Other than a four part mixed mut we had when I was a child, he's been THE best dog.
I'm going to pic spam you with about a million Instagram shots of our family dog that is almost mine. He sleeps in my room, he waits for me to get home and he won't go to bed until I do. He's precious, annoying, silly and needy but we love him anyway.
Isn't he just the cutest thing? I think I feed his ego a little too much. Always telling him how cute he is and having him pose for pics!
Do you have a family dog? What's your favorite breed?

I have a dog. His name is Jaq-Jaq and he is a lab mix. I had another dog, but he ran away about 6 weeks ago :( Your baby is such a cutie!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cutie he is! I love how he is just far enough in your food pictures, so that you know he is waiting for you to drop something. Great choice for B!
ReplyDeleteBoomer is so cute- I enjoyed all of the pictures of his cute little face!
ReplyDeleteWe had a beagle growing up, he would escape every once and while and my dad would have to wander the neighbourhood searching for him! I really want a dachsund now, but beagles will always be close to my heart!
I am dyinggg for a husky because I think they are beautiful but my building doesn't allow dogs :( My parents have two labradoodles and I am just as obsessed
ReplyDeleteBoomer is a cutie! I can't have a dog where I am and honestly I think I'm too selfish right now for a pup. But someday...
ReplyDeleteHe is cute no doubt. I love pets and we have cats.
ReplyDeleteawwww baby!! He is so adorable!!
ReplyDeleteBeagle is too cute ! all pics r adorable
ReplyDeleteI absolutely LOVE dogs. Like, no joke... they're probably my favorite thing in the entire world. I can't get enough of them. ALL of them!
ReplyDeleteLook at those eyes! I bet he has you wrapped round his hind paw!
ReplyDeleteWhat a little cutie! Love how he likes to photobomb all the pics. My little Seamus is the best. I used to love big breeds (we had a Husky and a Lab growing up) but I am finding i like smaller dogs now.
ReplyDeleteBoomer is super cute. My dogs are frequent photo bombers!
ReplyDeleteI had tears in my eyes looking at the rescue video. Boomer is way too cute. Give him a belly rub from my side. :)
ReplyDeleteBeagles make me think of Snoopy. And I love Snoops and the rest of Peanuts!
ReplyDeleteI have golden retrievers, labrador, chow chows and german shepherd. That's a mouthful! Wait till you hear about this, the german impregnated my lab, they made 7 puppies and my chow chow had 3 and my golden had 1. Right now I have 4 adult dogs and 11 puppies! Yikes!
I'm really partial to goldens and labs. Like you, I can't live without them. But that's not to say that I love my other dogs less...:)
Oh he is so cute! And isn't that video just amazing? I hear about animal testing and such all the time but when you see a video like that, it really hits home.
ReplyDeleteBoomer has such a sweet face! You made me get a lump in my throat when you talked about preparing yourself to say goodbye. I tear up when I remember the last few months of my 21 year old cat's life, and then I think about the cats I have now and how someday I'll lose them, and I have to mentally slap myself. Enjoy Boomer now, and someday, when the time is right, you'll have your very own beagle.
