30 Before Thirty

I can't believe I'm in the last year of my twenties!

I know I'm still just a baby, everybody at work can't stop telling me that. I feel like life just jumps from month to month, don't you? I mean it just feels like New Year's Eve was yesterday and we're already the first week into March with Easter a little over a month away.

So you may not know, but I'm a list maker and I love crossing things off my list. However, I never really had a lot of goals for myself I could actually achieve on my own. College done. Helped publish a book.

Sure I'd like to be married and have kids someday but I'm not up for raising children on my own so those aren't realistic goals for me to actually cross off my list right now. I don't think I could ever come up with 101 things to do in 1001 days like I'd like to. At least not at this point in my life. I can however, make a 30 things to do before I turn thirty, right?! Making this list of 30 was more difficult than I imagined.

With less than a year to do it since I just turned 29 Wednesday, I've put a lot of thought and have been looking ahead to make sure the things on my list are manageable. Who wants to make a list and not be able finish everything on it? Not this girl!

Of course, I'd love to pay off my student loans but unless I win the lottery I don't see that happening in the next year. Same goes with the two "someday" things I mentioned above. I've been gifted with the freedom to do so much more without any extra people in my life and let's face it the single life has definitely chosen me. It's time I started choosing it!

1// Pay off my car
2// Leave the country
3// Get a Bikini Wax
4// Get my Conceal Carry License + a gun
5// Get Head Shots
6// Get a massage
7// Attend a NFL game
8// Get business cards made
9// Set up online portfolio
10// Get my passport
11// Go on a cruise
12// Lose 20 lbs.
13// Complete the C25k program
14// Read a non-fiction book
15// Take a sewing class
16// Give 100% tip
17// Clean out my emails (42,000+)
18// Write a Short story + sell it
19// Grow my blog to triple digits
20// Have a picnic with a basket
21// Make a pie from scratch, including the crust!
22// Meet an online (blog) friend in person
23// Take a road trip w/no planning
24// Not eat sweets for 30 days
25// Attend a music festival
26// Try a new food
27// Ride a motorcycle
28// Send 10 handwritten letters
29// Volunteer for a good cause
30// Visit the Carolinas
14/16 *check*

Some of the things on the list I'll be able to cross off unless something catastrophic happens since the tickets are already purchased but they're things I've been wanting to do for a while and had been on my list(s). Of course I've made a few of these lists and revised them to come up with this final list, duh! Then there are those things I am going to have to work at.

Do you have a bucket list? I almost left some blank to add to this as I think of things, but maybe I'll make another one after I turn thirty?

It's Friday and Whitney likes to have us getting our groove on and backin' that azz up! Here's a list making song if I ever heard one. I love me some old school Toby Keith!

My List by Toby Keith on Grooveshark

  1. taking a spontaneous road trip is the best. i've done that once and we ended up in chicago and it was one of the best weekends ever!

    Vodka and Soda

  2. Love your list, it has a little bit of everything. Making a pie from scratch is easier than you think. Totally possible. Love the idea of a road trip!

  3. Love it! I love reading other people's goals list, it's fun. You have a lot of fun things. haha the bikini wax is on my list too, I'm still scared.

  4. I wish I'd done one of these last year before I turned 30. Love your list!

  5. You love Chicago Fire, chips & salsa, and you like being a good tipper. All things I am a major fan of :) cute blog

  6. That is a great list! But that looks like quite the full year and you will have to put work to it to get it all done! All fun stuff though. On my year's bucket list I was trying to figure out how to get down to see YOU!

  7. Love this list! And TELL me about it. I'll still be paying off my student loans when my future children are attending colllege....womp womp

  8. Oh my god, coming from Australia you have no idea how outrageous #4 sounds!
Good luck with everything - i'm loving having a little blog stalk sesh right now!
