Beauty from Pain Series + More Five Star Books

This series started with a $.99 book one-click on Amazon and I'm so thankful I did. Truthfully I think it would have been worth the $3.99 price but I'm glad I didn't have to pay that for each book, lol. #cheapskate

Anyway, Beauty from Pain was another FIVE star book for me. Those aren't the norm though I do tend to rate books pretty high.

After the Beauty Series, you'll find some FIVE star books I haven't mentioned yet.

Beauty from Pain by Georgia Cates was sooo good that it was hard for the other two in the series to live up to the first. (Five Stars!)

Synopses: They agreed on three months...but their love knew no boundaries.

Jack McLachlan is a winemaking magnate and easily one of Australia’s most eligible bachelors. His success and wealth makes him no stranger to the complications of romantic relationships and that’s why he goes to extreme measures to avoid the hassle. He prefers simplicity in the form of a beautiful female companion with no strings attached. He arranges relationships like business deals and they’re always the same. No long term relationships. No real names.

It’s his game and his rules. He’s content to play as usual, but when Laurelyn Prescott enters his life, his strategy must change because this player is like none he's ever encountered. His world is turned on its head after he begins a three month affair with the beautiful American musician. Nothing goes according to plan and as he breaks more and more of his own rules for her, she’s exceptionally close to becoming something he never thought possible. His ultimate game changer.

Beauty From Pain Series are adult contemporary novels and are not intended for younger readers due to mature content.

Beauty from Surrender by Georgia Cates was the second in the series and I flew through it just like I did the first. I read several reviews where people didn't feel like the characters were carried over from the first book in quite the same way, but I beg to differ. The emotions from these two were the same as I would expect from any in similar situations.

Synopses: How do you move on when he’s every song you sing?

After Laurelyn Prescott walks away from the love of her life, she returns to Nashville to pursue the only dream she has left. Determined to find a distraction from the pain of losing Jack Henry, she immerses herself in her music. But with her old life comes old acquaintances and new expectations. When Laurelyn refuses her record producer’s outrageous demands, she finds herself without a career—until an unforeseen opportunity presents itself. From there it’s a rocket ride straight to the top where Laurelyn finds the success she’s always dreamed of. Will it be enough to bring her the happiness she so deserves, or will the absence of Jack Henry leave her wanting more?

Jack Henry McLachlan never expected to fall in love with Laurelyn Prescott—but he did. After he foolishly let her slip through his fingers, he spends three months searching for her, but their reunion doesn’t come easy. The woman he finds isn’t the same one who drifted away without a goodbye. No longer an insecure girl on an Australian adventure, this Laurelyn is a successful musician with a promising career. Her dreams are becoming a reality, and Jack is terrified his American girl won’t have a place for him in her new life. With only a month to convince her otherwise, will it be enough time to make her visualize a life beyond the glitz and glamour, a life that includes him?

Beauty from Love by Georgia Cates was just as good as the first two, but I just don't know that it was needed. Sure, it was nice to hear more of their story and it made me all giddy but I couldn't give it 5 stars. However, it deserves an honorable mention since the other two were so hard to live up to.

Synopses: Jack McLachlan is fulfilled by more than he dared to dream possible. He finds everything he never knew he wanted—or needed—in Laurelyn Prescott, his last and final companion. Life is beautiful with his beloved by his side but their post-wedded bliss is cut short when his dark past springs into their present happiness. He wants to shelter Laurelyn but keeping her untainted by his previous life proves impossible when yesterday’s sins insist on returning to haunt him. Will it be possible for them to find happiness in their forever with a past like his?

I've also not been reading much else. #readerfail But, I wanted to share more five star books I've not mentioned like so. I'll continue to do this until I've exhausted my Five star books :)

Hard as it Gets by Laura Kaye wasn't one that only I loved, my friend S loved it just as much! It's all about tattoos, helping the damsel and hot boys! I'm so excited for the other books that are due out in this series. Hard as You Can comes out today!

Synopses:
Tall, dark, and lethal...

Trouble just walked into Nicholas Rixey's tattoo parlor. Becca Merritt is warm, sexy, wholesome--pure temptation to a very jaded Nick. He's left his military life behind to become co-owner of Hard Ink Tattoo, but Becca is his ex-commander's daughter. Loyalty won't let him turn her away. Lust has plenty to do with it too.

With her brother presumed kidnapped, Becca needs Nick. She just wasn't expecting to want him so much. As their investigation turns into all-out war with an organized crime ring, only Nick can protect her. And only Becca can heal the scars no one else sees.

Desire is the easy part. Love is as hard as it gets. Good thing Nick is always up for a challenge...

Just for Now by Abbi Glines I *heart* Abbi, for serious! I don't care if a lot of her books are similar, or the same storyline with different characters I just love them! I even have a Rush Crush t-shirt! This one had a hero, and it had the love of/for his siblings that really tugged on my heart!

Synopses: An insatiable attraction heats to the boiling point in this steamy book set in the shore town of Sea Breeze from the author of the white-hot The Vincent Boys.

Preston is one bad boy. And Amanda has harbored a crush on him for forever. When she finally makes her move on him, it does not end well. But still, she can’t resist him. Especially now that he seems to be pursuing her, too.

No one wants wants them to be together. Not Amanda’s brother Marcus, who is on the verge of his marriage to Low, and definitely not any of Preston’s buddies. They know way too much about Preston’s dark side. Even Preston realizes he’s not good enough for someone like her.

But Amanda believes there is more to Preston than his bad boy persona, and she is determined to unearth what he’s hiding behind his seductive blue eyes—secrets that could explain his actions. Secrets Amanda might not be able to forgive.

Yet the dangerous attraction persists...and neither Preston nor Amanda is going to deny it.

Now that Book Bash 2014 is underway and we're finding out the authors I get super excited when I find out one of my Five Star book authors will be there and ALL of these authors will be there! What's the last FIVE star book you read?

  1. I actually all but the last one on my too read list!! Good taste! ;) Live Wire by Harlen Coben was my last 5 star book. It seems I don't give very many 5 stars either. I switch from mystery to romance a lot too. :)
