Recipe: Spicy Baked Beans

Happy Hump Day pretties!

We're coming off the high of a wonderful Pampered Chef party and gearing up for Super Bowl for our next big shindig. My parents have the whole church over...we go to a small church, so don't worry it's not like we live in a mansion but our house does get pretty full with all the people. We just really love having people over and sharing food with friends!

I thought I'd share one of my favorite party and cookout side dishes.

My Mom's Baked Beans with a Kick

Spicy Baked Beans Printable Recipe

15 oz Van Camps Pork and Beans
1/2 C. Brown Sugar Packed
1/4 C. Ketchup
1/4 C. BBQ Sauce (we always use hickory smoke flavored)
1/4 C. Diced Onions or 1 Tbsp. Minced Onions
1 Fresh JalapeƱo

Mix all ingredients in small baking dish. Bake in oven for 1 hour at 350 degrees or convection oven for 1 hour at 325 degrees.

These aren't super hot, so if you love the hotter side of the scale, add more Jalapenos.

A couple of things to note.
1. We almost always do a double batch or more because EVERYBODY loves these and they're awesome cold!
2. Often when I make them I'm usually trying to get ready too so it's okay to leave them in the oven. They get even better with a little more love in the oven, lol.

What are some of your favorite tailgate or cookout dishes?

  1. I learned how to make these Southern Baked Beans from this guy I met who was in the Army. So I of course have to try these too. Looks delish!

  2. I love baked beans! Haven't tried the spicy ones though. My go to appetizer is a Mexican avocado black bean and corn salsa. I included the link to it on the post I linked up today with Sarah and Karly.

  3. This looks good. I can't cook, and I avoid turning the oven on at all costs, but I really think that I could handle this!
