Book Review: Perfect Lie by Teresa Mummert

That's right, your eyes aren't deceiving you. This is an actual book review. I received this Advanced Reader Copy for free in exchange for my honest review.

So this was my first time reading a book by Teresa Mummert and I was thoroughly impressed. Like I couldn't put it down, impressed. I remember seeing another book of hers on the shelves at Target and adding it to my TBR Goodreads, but had not taken the time to read it. Now I can't wait to move it up the list!!

Let's talk about Perfect Lie.

Synopsis: Sometimes love burns so hot in your veins that it consumes all rational thought.

That's why Brock and I never had a chance.  I had to start my life over. College was my chance to become someone new. I changed everything about myself to fit in, but one person saw through my facade.

The attraction between Abel and I was undeniable, but I still hadn't healed from the painful secret I carried around with me. Abel struggled to get me to face my past in order to move forward. In doing so, he revealed a secret of his own; one that changed everything I thought I knew.

A secret that would bring Brock back into my life and force me to face the truth of what really happened the day I lost him.

I absolutely LOVED how everything played together. Delilah or Lie as she is nicknamed, see how the title is also her name?! Clever. She's in need of saving from herself and Abel is just the guy to do it. He is a lot of things I like in a book crush. I think he's a little too real world for a book boyfriend with some of his decisions but I love a guy that will swoop in even when he isn't wanted.

I started this book Tuesday morning and thank goodness I didn't have to go to work because I didn't want to put it down. I knew there was a huge plot twist at the end and when I got there I was like...what?! To read more about the plot twist, Teresa added a discussion forum WITH SPOILERS on Facebook here.

It was definitely a five start book for me. I didn't see the twist coming at the end. The characters were well developed to me and it was one I just couldn't put down.

Have you read anything by Teresa Mummert?

Don't forget to make sure we're friends on Goodreads so we can see what the other is reading! I added this same review to Goodreads.
