Thankful Thanksgiving and Black Turkey Day

Happy Thanksgiving!

I hope you're able to spend at least a small part of the day with friends and family! I have many things to be thankful for this year.

I have a wonderful family I have not only been blessed with but I am surrounded by everyday. Except you sister, I miss you!

Thankful for the gorgeous weather we enjoy throughout the year. Although today is the coldest day in Florida since February!!

I have some pretty cool friends that I get to hang out with and not get bored with...yet!

I have a super cute dog that actually belongs to the family but has claimed me as his person.

I have reclaimed my love for reading. Not that it was ever gone, but I wasn't reading "books" just fanfiction about the same two characters I fell in love with five years ago.

I have a pretty healthy body, and I have health insurance through work so it doesn't cost me an arm and a leg. I tried getting insurance on my own once. It wasn't pretty.

I have an education. I started something and I finished it. I also know the difference between your/you're and there/their/they're.

I have a pretty cool car. It's not the car I'd have if I won the lottery *cough*Audi Convertible*cough*, but it works. It's almost paid off and it's fun to drive!

I have a job! I've been through a Thanksgiving Holiday season without one and while it can be crazy and makes me want to kill people I'm very thankful for it!

Speaking of a job. I remember what it was like to work retail during the Holiday season and I stumbled across this article a friend of mine posted on Facebook the other day. I found this article pretty intriguing and it made me really think about shopping the deals on Thanksgiving.

I've gone Black Friday shopping ever since I can remember, with the exception of when I had to work and even then I would still shop super early before going into work for the day. Last year I did partake in the movie madness at Walmart to get so many good deals, including two larger electronic items I later returned. However, that was at 10PM and that's nowhere near dinner time for people to be missing time with their families.

I don't mind them being open. I remember as a teen going with my aunts and cousins into town to our local Walmart. That's all we had in small town Kansas. It's even a blessing when a place is open and you've forgotten a major part of the meal!

I just don't like that their "deals" start so early on Thanksgiving. Last year I stopped by Target around 11AM and was able to get EVERYTHING I had on my list, movies included. There's nothing I absolutely cannot live without and I have so much to be thankful for.

I'll be watching Macy's Thanksgiving Parade and then enjoying lunch with family and friends, hopefully outside if the weather cooperates!

Hope you have a Happy Thanksgiving!
