Last Weekend of 2013

Even though today is still technically my weekend because I don't have to go back to work until tomorrow, yay! I thought I would share my weekend with you and then tomorrow I'll actually get my Christmas break post up. Yeesh...that's been a challenge. I love the Holidays, but they can really get busy.

This weekend I said goodbye to my sister and got to see a friend of mine I only see twice a year really, since she lives in the gorgeous state of Hawaii.

I'm pretty sure this weekend was all about games, and firsts.

1.
My sis and I on the beach. I don't go as often as I can, but when people are in town visiting we try to make sure they go even if it's just for a photo op.
2. We played this $.99 iPhone App/Game and had soooo much fun. I think as women we are a little more intense than the men.
3. Had some yummy drinks made for us by my friends bartender brother.
4. This was a strategy game called Ticket to Ride. I lost the first two games and then was the first to go out during the third, ended up forgetting to complete one track I thought was done and came in third!

Make sure you check out my first official book review I posted on Saturday!

Do you like playing board games or just games in general with friends? What did you do for your last weekend in 2013? Have any big plans for NYE 2014?

I'm headed back to the beach to have lunch with a friend from out of town. Have a marvelous Monday!

Book Review: Perfect Lie by Teresa Mummert

That's right, your eyes aren't deceiving you. This is an actual book review. I received this Advanced Reader Copy for free in exchange for my honest review.

So this was my first time reading a book by Teresa Mummert and I was thoroughly impressed. Like I couldn't put it down, impressed. I remember seeing another book of hers on the shelves at Target and adding it to my TBR Goodreads, but had not taken the time to read it. Now I can't wait to move it up the list!!

Let's talk about Perfect Lie.

Synopsis: Sometimes love burns so hot in your veins that it consumes all rational thought.

That's why Brock and I never had a chance.  I had to start my life over. College was my chance to become someone new. I changed everything about myself to fit in, but one person saw through my facade.

The attraction between Abel and I was undeniable, but I still hadn't healed from the painful secret I carried around with me. Abel struggled to get me to face my past in order to move forward. In doing so, he revealed a secret of his own; one that changed everything I thought I knew.

A secret that would bring Brock back into my life and force me to face the truth of what really happened the day I lost him.

Purchase Links:
Amazon - Barnes & Noble - Kobo

I absolutely LOVED how everything played together. Delilah or Lie as she is nicknamed, see how the title is also her name?! Clever. She's in need of saving from herself and Abel is just the guy to do it. He is a lot of things I like in a book crush. I think he's a little too real world for a book boyfriend with some of his decisions but I love a guy that will swoop in even when he isn't wanted.

I started this book Tuesday morning and thank goodness I didn't have to go to work because I didn't want to put it down. I knew there was a huge plot twist at the end and when I got there I was like...what?! To read more about the plot twist, Teresa added a discussion forum WITH SPOILERS on Facebook here.

It was definitely a five start book for me. I didn't see the twist coming at the end. The characters were well developed to me and it was one I just couldn't put down.

Have you read anything by Teresa Mummert?

Don't forget to make sure we're friends on Goodreads so we can see what the other is reading! I added this same review to Goodreads.

Holiday Fab Weekend

This weekend was very much filled with Holiday happenings. Oh and Happy Monday Morning since I have today and tomorrow off!!!

I'm just sitting in the actually chilly weather in Florida for once this season! Don't worry it's supposed to get up to the 70's so I shouldn't be chilly for long and then it's expected to be back up to 80 by the end of the week. The 50 degree weather is helping me to pound this blog post out! It's too loud and crowded inside, but almost too cold outside haha!

1. We went shopping for Tack Christmas Sweaters and she would kill me if she knew I had this on here! I found one to alter and then my mom told me she had one I could wear, lulz!
2. Friday night was ladies night at a coworkers house and she had yummy snacks and a delicious punch!
3. Saturday was the Christmas parade and it was a warm 80 degrees but Santa still managed to find us in the back of his fire truck!
4. The Grinch showed up with his Whos.
5. Saturday night we did a couple of performances with our church band in front of a local Tavern singing Christmas Carols!
6. Stayed up way too late making tags for the Angel Tree at church, but all the tags were gone by the time we left.
7. Sunday was National Cupcake day so I couldn't NOT celebrate with my friends! They had a Black and Gold one for UCF!!!
8. After our day trip to Orlando, we had to drop off A's rental car and learned how to park in Economy parking.
9. This was the "main" reason we drove to O-town...Lazy Moon!! Seriously if you're ever in East Orlando you have to try this place!!

I'm off to run some errands with my mama and then our yearly Christmas baking! How was your weekend? Did you already do your baking?

I Heart Mail - Reveal: Secret Santa Swap

Happy Friday!!

I don't think I told you guys but I participated in a Secret Santa Swap with some other blogger gals and today is the day we get to find out who had us!!

I got paired up with Carrie over at Little Bird Blogs and I absolutely LOVED that she shared her TBR book list and I got her something I knew she would love! I also included my favorite top coat since she's all about the nails. Seriously, you should check out her nail posts as she's always trying something new! You can see what I sent her in her post.

Carrie it was so awesome being your sneaky secret santa and thanks for making it super easy to shop for you!

Now let's talk about what I got!

I wasn't very detailed about what I wanted because I wanted to be surprised and I got some way cool stuff!

1. A super soft pink polka dot blanket. You've seen this pic about how everybody hates Florida floating around the interwebz right?
Well, it hasn't been cool enough to use it until TODAY, so hopefully I'll be putting this bad girl to use soon! Tomorrow it's supposed to be 81 again and I have a Christmas parade to go to...very Christmas like weather Florida. I'll just wear my capris and red t-shirt.
2. Yummy candies that I've already shared with my coworkers.
3. Nail polish & stickers! I've already tried the sparkly red/pink on top of my red nails and I've gotten compliments on.

Thanks so much to the girls that hosted this fun swap! Thank you Secret Santa!

Allie - Allison - Jenn - Rebeka - Ricci

I have to be honest and I am really bad at getting so excited about something and not reading all the directions. I totally missed that we weren't supposed to reveal before today and signed my card with my blog addy and everything! That reminds me of the "idiot test" where you are supposed to read every question / direction before answering any of them. When you get to the bottom, the last question tells you to only do numbers one and two! I fall for it every time I tell you. I was glad to hear Carrie also signed her card so I wasn't the only one, *whew*!

This weekend I've got some Christmas'y things coming up and then I'm off for a couple days and I have been so excited at work today they've looked at me like I'm a little nuts but it's all good!

What are you up to this weekend?

How about some Holiday jams to get the weekend started with my girl Taylor? #backthatazzup Taylor! You saw her rocking it on Victoria's Secret Fashion show right? *sigh* love her. If you missed it, go check her and Fall Out Boy out. *nods*

Weighing In 1-1

I've tried this weigh in thing on here before. Even linked up with a few ladies and something never works out. Most of the failure could stem from my lack of motivation, but I don't want to be one of those New Year Resolution people, so I'm starting now.

I've got part of it mapped out. I've given myself until December 25th to lose a total of 9 pounds. Right now, I'm 7.6 away from that goal. My bi-weekly weigh ins will take place on the Monday I'm off with the post going live Tuesday after I've had my Monday off. This gives me the time to weigh myself Monday morning and then blog about it ready to release for Tuesday. Since I have to be at work at 7:00 there's just no way I want to get up early enough to weigh in and blog before I go into work.

My starting weight was from Black Friday, since that's when I decided what my goal would be and when I would be doing everything.

The "goal" weight will change with each mini-goal since I don't want to have this HUGE number hanging over my head. Smaller goals = bigger results.

This is still a work in progress and before I do a lot of cardio, I have eight Pure Barre classes I'm going to power through between now and December 15th. So we'll see how that goes...8 classes in 13 days when I'm only in Tampa for the weekdays = 8 days!

Do you have a healthy weight plan in place for the Holiday season?

Yay! A Long Weekend Recap

I would so much rather be at home curled up with a good book, than out in this cold but it looks like winter has finally graced Florida with its presence. Although, tomorrow is supposed to be 81 degrees again, so whew!

I had another unplanned weekend. You know, the kind where you take life as it comes and then try to remember what you did (of little significance) for your Monday post.

Friday was the UCF vs. USF rivalry game and we pulled off a win, barely. The tailgate was super fun and definitely felt like Fall with the chill in the air and the jackets with scarves. I almost needed a beanie or ear muffs for the 57 degree weather, lol.

Saturday was small business Saturday and while I had every intention of heading down to the sponge docks to hit up some of my favorite shops I never made it out of my PJs. *shrug* We were trying to clean off the DVR before switching cable companies, and actually got pretty close.

So Sunday after church and helping my dad get the meat all seasoned up and on the smoker, mom and I hit the craft fair and some antique shops downtown. Again, it was a bust since I found nothing but at least I actually tried.

1. I didn't know we were taking a pic until it was too late.
2. Spicing up the meat!
3. Shaping the egg for my breafkast sandwich!
4. We managed to fit a grill in the back of a hatchback. I was impressed.
5. Sunday was a day of good food. Smoked meats, wings and finishing off the margarita bottle from the game.

I'm off today, so I hope this four day work week goes by quick! I went shopping today for Christmas wrapping paper, and have the first Christmas gifts to ship out this week. I'm so excited!

Hope you had a great weekend!

My Grown Up Christmas List

So to be honest, since my parents don't have grand kids to spoil yet, we still make a wish list for them every year. It's something my mom always asks for.

Sometimes it's just a handwritten list. Other times, it's an email with links and then others it's a picture. So, here it is mom, my Christmas list for 2013!

Sunglasses | Earrings | Mug | Perfume | Shoes | Bracelet

Sunglasses - I've been wanting these since the Summer but I just haven't been able to justify spending $100 for a pair of sunglasses when I ruin cheaper pairs or lose them. Now they're on sale, yay!
Earrings - Since I'm super sensitive to metals, it takes a lot more work finding a pair of hoops I like that also won't cause an allergic reaction.
Mug - Pink, check. Cake for breakfast, check.
Perfume - I've made a pact with myself not to buy anymore perfume since I have five really expensive ones that need to be used up.
Shoes - My cute tennis shoes are a few years old and it's time for a new pair.
Bracelet - I'd love to have a Tiffany's Charm bracelet to add charms to throughout my life!

So those are just a few. I'm sure I could keep coming up with stuff but those were at the forefront of my mind, lol.

I'm headed out to a rivalry football game USF vs. UCF today, but on the way I'm going to stop and see how the Black Friday deals are going. Did you get up early today or sleep in like me? I get up everyday at 5:30 so 7:00 is sleeping in for me, especially when my body won't let me sleep later. I hate that!

I can't have a post like this without the matching song?! If Whitney posts, I'll be linking up with her :)

Thankful Thanksgiving and Black Turkey Day

Happy Thanksgiving!

I hope you're able to spend at least a small part of the day with friends and family! I have many things to be thankful for this year.

I have a wonderful family I have not only been blessed with but I am surrounded by everyday. Except you sister, I miss you!

Thankful for the gorgeous weather we enjoy throughout the year. Although today is the coldest day in Florida since February!!

I have some pretty cool friends that I get to hang out with and not get bored with...yet!

I have a super cute dog that actually belongs to the family but has claimed me as his person.

I have reclaimed my love for reading. Not that it was ever gone, but I wasn't reading "books" just fanfiction about the same two characters I fell in love with five years ago.

I have a pretty healthy body, and I have health insurance through work so it doesn't cost me an arm and a leg. I tried getting insurance on my own once. It wasn't pretty.

I have an education. I started something and I finished it. I also know the difference between your/you're and there/their/they're.

Source - Lotto Car

I have a pretty cool car. It's not the car I'd have if I won the lottery *cough*Audi Convertible*cough*, but it works. It's almost paid off and it's fun to drive!

I have a job! I've been through a Thanksgiving Holiday season without one and while it can be crazy and makes me want to kill people I'm very thankful for it!

Speaking of a job. I remember what it was like to work retail during the Holiday season and I stumbled across this article a friend of mine posted on Facebook the other day. I found this article pretty intriguing and it made me really think about shopping the deals on Thanksgiving.

I've gone Black Friday shopping ever since I can remember, with the exception of when I had to work and even then I would still shop super early before going into work for the day. Last year I did partake in the movie madness at Walmart to get so many good deals, including two larger electronic items I later returned. However, that was at 10PM and that's nowhere near dinner time for people to be missing time with their families.

I don't mind them being open. I remember as a teen going with my aunts and cousins into town to our local Walmart. That's all we had in small town Kansas. It's even a blessing when a place is open and you've forgotten a major part of the meal!

I just don't like that their "deals" start so early on Thanksgiving. Last year I stopped by Target around 11AM and was able to get EVERYTHING I had on my list, movies included. There's nothing I absolutely cannot live without and I have so much to be thankful for.

I'll be watching Macy's Thanksgiving Parade and then enjoying lunch with family and friends, hopefully outside if the weather cooperates!

Hope you have a Happy Thanksgiving!

Show Your School Pride with Color!

I'm a former cheerleader, so I know all about school pride. We didn't have a lot of winning seasons while I was in high school and then the college I went to didn't even have a football team, womp womp :( So, I had to find other ways to show my school spirit and one of the ways to do that has always been through colors!!

Very recently, I have taken my school pride in the shades of black and gold for University of Central Florida, aka UCF #GoKnights!

Gold?

To be completely honest, I used to never wear gold. Ever. My mom has silver and platinum jewelry with a few gold pieces so I just took on that same mentality. Until recently. My grandmother gave me a gold ring and then there's the fact that UCF is black and gold. Yeah, I've become a little obsessed with gold.

While I didn't go to school there (I'm a WSU Shocker) my friends did go there and they're all about showing their support for their team. When I've gone to the games, I've picked up quite the paraphernalia but I really like a challenge AND Looking cute. So, I've been known to show up in the colors, instead of just putting on a shirt or hat with the logo.

Here are a few candid shots from games this year.

Obviously there's absolutely nothing wrong with showing your support by wearing team approved apparel, I just happen to like spicing things up. What's your favorite game day attire?

Oh a lot of Screen Time this Weekend

So this weekend I didn't have much planned, yay! Unlike the latter part of this week which I have several things on my plate.

Friday was my brother cooking and me cleaning up. We'd had a mishap during the week when he accidentally put the dirty dishes away as if they were clean. *face palm* So we had to redo a lot of the dishes. Then watched Legally Blonde on TV. One of my fav movies!!

Caught up on Chicago Fire. I'm a little obsessed with this show. I can't really get enough of it!

I got to see a matinee Catching Fire. It's been a long time since I've seen a matinee film, lol. It was pretty cheap except the fee I paid since we weren't sure if the tickets would be available when we got to the theater! I think I liked the first one better, but please take note that I did not read the books and am basing it solely off of what I saw in the movies.

Then we did lunch at Outback and I finally got to try one of their mini milkshakes, yum!

Isn't it cute?! It sure was good and went perfectly with my cheeseburger and salad. They're lunch menu was pretty decent pricing and selection.

Then I came home to work on a surprise project my dad has been helping me with. I didn't get them done, but they're put together and ready for painting!!! I cut my stencils tonight so I'll be ready to spray paint Monday. It was pretty windy here and wind does NOT go with spray painting.

We also watched several episodes of Monk that my parents had previously taped. I'm pretty sure we're Monk'd out, but they're trying to clean off the DVR.

Another thing mom and I watched was a cheesy Christmas movie, A Very Merry Mixup. I've seen some good made for TV Christmas movies, butt his one was a little too corny for me.

Oh, we did peruse a craft show, but didn't find anything. Does that happen to you when you go to craft shows?

What did you get up to this weekend? I'm soooo looking forward to only a three day work week and the Holiday!

10 Differences in Televised vs. Live Football

I've gone to so many live games this year that it was a nice break to watch the UCF game on TV last night. A couple of bonuses I saw watching on TV vs. Live.

One. I could write this blog post, lol. Do dishes, go to the bathroom, fill my water cup and not pay $3 a bottle.

Two. I got to see the guys up close and personal. I like football pants. Boys are cute and all that nonsense. *grins*

Three. I didn't have to drive two hours and get back home at 2:00 or 3:00 in the morning and have to get up for work the next day. I got to go to bed around 11:30.

Four. Snuggling up on the couch with my blanket and warm socks instead of whatever the weather might throw at me.

Five. I knew what the crowd was doing with zombie nation or at kick off and could sing along or not. Without someone yelling at me to "make noise."

Six. The standing...at a lot of the games this season, it's been standing almost the entire game and I wasn't forced to stand once.

Seven. I actually enjoy commentary, rare I know. So I love hearing what the commentators say.

Eight. Lots of replays. Sometimes when I'm there I'm like what happened...I missed it because I was _____. Usually talking, taking pics or watching the cheerleaders.

Nine. I can pause, rewind and fast forward to my liking.

Ten. The lines on the field. Sure, the chains are helpful but I love it when I can see the imaginary lines on the field on TV.

Don't get me wrong, I still love a live game more than staying home but it is nice to have a change up, even when they're playing at home and I don't live just down the street.

My Most Recent FIVE Star Books

Am I the only silly person that reads more than one book at a time?

When you take a look through my "Current Reads" on Goodreads, you'll most likely see more than one or two, if not three books. It's usually one book I'm supposed to be reading like a suggestion from a friend or my dad and not my typical kind of reading. The other is my book of choice and if there's another, it would be one I'm reading that's strictly on my iPad and doesn't sync with my phone. Boo.

I think one of my abilities to read multiple stories at once stems from my fanfiction days. Getting multiple updates delivered to my inbox had me constantly keeping up with multiple stories at a time. At least now I can finish a story in one sitting if I want!

Now, let's talk about the last three books I have read and actually gave FIVE stars to.

#3. Unteachable by Leah Raeder
This is a teacher/student story that I saw across several of the book rec sites I follow. While teacher/student isn't something that draws me in quite like a fighter story would I couldn't get what they were saying out of my head. So I took the plunge and boy am I glad I did. It's too bad I had to go to work or I would have finished it a lot more quickly. Unlike other books, I kept having to sneak away for my breaks and not do anything except get my fill of Evan.

#2. Where You Are (Between the Lines, #2) by Tammara Webber
This is a second book in a 4 part series by Tammara. You might recognize her name from her fabulous book Easy, which I read this past Summer. The first in this series, there was just too much unknown for me between the love triangle Tammara created and it wasn't until I got to book two that I fell in love with the hero. He has one soft spot that gets me every time and I really wanted more of their story and nothing else to do with the other characters she has written about in books three and four.

#1. Mine by Katy Evans
I don't think I've quite expressed my obsession with Katy Evans' Remy like I should have. I mentioned it when I talked about Mine on the release date, here. There are many unhealthy obsessive things about this series, but those are probably what keeps me coming back for more. And more we are getting when Katy releases Remy, which I've read the first 15 pages of and am DYING for more!!! You too can read them here.

I don't hand out five stars like one might think I would. Too many mistakes, not that I'm an editor obviously but some are just glaring! Also, if I could put it down it's probably not a five star book to me.

To see all of the books I've been up to in the book world, check out my Goodreads profile.

Over Thanksgiving, I'll be tackling the three books in the Lost and Found Series since I'm sure I'll have some time on my hands. Another book that just got added thanks to another rec from Kristen on Instagram this week. I just started the last in the Beautiful series, Beautiful Beginning by Christina Lauren. It's already so good!

What else should I be reading? Got any recs for me? My major requirements are a good and simple love story. I don't do post apocalyptic or YA much, and I tend to stay away from anything that's not romance focused, just a warning. I will share what you've rec'd on the blog next time I do a book post though!

Hope you guys had a great Thursday and tomorrow is Friday I can't wait!!

Weekend Living

Happy Monday Morning Friends!!

This post is brought to you by a local Starbucks. We have plenty to choose from, but I chose the one my brother works at this morning. There are some perks with him working at a favorite place of mine. Free bags of coffee or tea every week just being one of them.

Anyway, even though my weekend isn't quote over I thought I'd go ahead and share with you what I did.

I had lots of things on my to do list, and while I got started on several, I don't think I finished any of them yet. I still have today and Thursday to finish them as I have a random day off on Thursday that I'm very much looking forward to. :)

I participated in the latest Cara Box exchange and that post went live today, so go check out all the great boxes that were shipped out recently!

1. Friday I came home to two packages. I absolutely love mail and not only did my Birchbox come in, but my first Zulily package with a UCF Scarf came in!!!
2. I had a hearty breakfast of bacon and eggs that included Trader Joe's Pumpkin Waffles and they were delish!
3. UCF had an away game that wasn't televised for me so I had to literally watch the last few minutes of the game by updating Twitter. We won!
4. Starbucks had a wonderful BOGO program featuring their Holiday drinks over the weekend and of course I indulged!
5. I think I actually succeeded with my second attempt at Trader Joe's pizza dough by prebaking the crust. Sooo good!
6. My brother and his band had their first live stage show at a local bar and rocked the house! Proud big sister!!!
7. My awesome dad is helping me build a game for a Christmas gift for a friend. He's having fun with it I think. He likes a good challenge.
8. Ipsy sent me their package on Saturday!! I just love getting things in the mail, lol.
9. Sunday we went to a craft fair because Saturday was super rainy, yuck. I didn't buy anything, yay and it was SUPER HOT! Like 80 degrees in November. What the Florida?!

So that was my weekend. I read some books, watched a movie and got caught up on Chicago Fire. I did get out more than I thought I would but I try not to turn down chances to live a little!

How was your weekend? Was it exceptionally warm where you live or do I get to be envious of your Fall weather?

I'm linking up with Sami today!

I Heart Mail - Reveal: Fall Cara Box

It's that time again!!!

Things got switched up a little this time around and I loved it. Instead of doing an exchange once a month, they're happening once a quarter and we're getting so much more time to get to know our matches and get them fab gifts that match their personality/likes/dislikes. This has really worked out for me and I hope the other participants feel the same!!

I got matched up and sent a box to Hannah. She was so much fun to get to know and we had a love of college football to share in. That and traveling, and our interesting pumpkin likes and dislikes, lol.

She was also the one that sent out the walking / mile challenge I participated in last month. Even though I ended up with a stupid cold and didn't have the energy to finish, I really enjoyed it.

Now my box came from the lovely Jackie who blogs over at Yankee Girl Southern World and just moved to Nashville! Hello country epicenter of America. *waves* :)

Speaking of Nashville, I'm really loving that show this season. Anybody else watching it?

Anywho, on to my goodies!! Fall is the perfect time of year and a pretty easy box to put together I think.

Didn't I get some great stuff? I already gobbled up all the snacks she sent me and I'll be making the pumpkin bars to take to work this week. Jackie, thanks so much for putting such a great box together. She also sent me an Amazon gift card to indulge in our shared love of reading. Love that New Adult Genre!

If you're interested in signing up for the next Cara Box, check out more info here. The Winter sign up will go from 12/2 to 12/4 so make sure you get signed up and you can see all my previous box posts here.

I'm doing some Fall cleaning, you know since it isn't Spring but it's still needed. Also working on a Christmas project for a friend that I'll be sharing on the blog after the gift has been delivered and hopefully loved!

Happy 100 and a Winning Weekend

Well it’s here…my 100th blog post, yay! I’m not sure I feel accomplished, but maybe just a little bit. It’s not like I blog everyday, but I love having this blog. Sure there have been about 20 or so blog posts started and not finished, but 100 posts going live feels good.

I looked up 100th blog post ideas and I don’t think I have 100 things about me to share, or feel the need to do a giveaway. My next post should have been about my Fall Cara Box but I had to get this 100th post in, lol.

So I celebrated with 100 words up until now. A lot can be said in very little, huh?

Now let's talk about my weekend. I was definitely wishing for another day.

I had a late night Friday after we went for dinner and drinks at Frenchy's. Three Margaritas and I was feeling GOOD!!! Watched White House Down with the ever good looking smoking hot Channing Tatum.

Saturday morning I lazed around before getting ready for the UCF game...which we won!!!

Before the game, we stopped at Lazy Moon, YUM! Then did a mini tailgate with some just bought booze. I was prepared with my skinny margaritas.

The game. Probably one of the most intense games. With an injury, some bad calls and the last, close minute of the game, my nerves were on fire and my voice was shot. A friend still didn't have a voice today, so I was pretty lucky. We got back super, SUPER late and then I was up and at it again Sunday morning.

We had our sights set on a Holiday open house at a Local'ish Scrapbook Store. It's about an hour away, but we always have a great time when we go and the closest "local" one is still 30-45 minutes away. We ended up spending a lot more time than we were expecting and we still had to make it to the Junior League Holiday Gift Market.

I had a great weekend and feel like I need to go to bed since I had two really late nights.

How was your weekend?

Sami's Shenanigans

Thanks to everybody that’s read and commented or followed me silently on this crazy journey called life. I love getting to share it with you. *heart*

Here’s to my next 100 posts!

Happy Release Day - Mine and Always

I can't believe I have to go to work today. Seriously, this is like the one day that I need to be at home reading. Why do new releases come out on Tuesday instead of Friday when I want to spend all weekend curled up with a book?

I have not just one, but TWO books I've been eagerly awaiting. Patiently.Like a crazy person. One has seriously consumed my thoughts for weeks and I don't know how I slept last night.

Mine by Katy Evans is set to arrive in my mailbox so I can hold it in my hands and take selfies with it all. day. long!

Hmm, for some reason I thought I'd done a crazy obsessive post about Remy in Real (which I've read a few times. It's my happy place.) but apparently I didn't. I'll hopefully be rectifying that after I finish Mine.

After I finish Mine, I'll be diving into The Edge of Always by J. A. Redmerski.

I read The Edge of Never before I went to Book Bash back in June, and I remember thinking this day would never come, haha!

I've also just bought the Emi Lost & Found Series because it went on sale. I've seen so many good things being said about this series and if you hurry you might be able to get it for $3.99 too!

Since I'm not a reviewer, don't expect much to be said about these books, but as always you can and should follow me on Goodreads!

What's on your TBR (to be read) list?!

Monday Blues Not Here, Call Back Later

Good Morning Friends!

I'm sure you were expecting to see a sad post about the weekend being over, blah blah but NOT HERE! Nope, my Monday is looking good! Where I used to have every other Friday, I got switched to every other Monday at work recently and thought it was pretty cool.

a. My mom has Mondays off, so we can spend them together if we want.
b. Nobody wants to go to work on a Monday anyway!!

Let's talk a little about how my weekend went. Friday night I went to the Dallas Bull for some line dancing. We go to this place when we don't want to be the creepy older ladies like at our local place, lol. It was fun and we should have stayed longer but it was Friday and I was tired.

Saturday I got up and started to gather supplies for a DIY project I'm working on for a Christmas present. Have you already started your shopping? I need to step on mine...last year I was so prepared and this year, not so much.

Saturday night we were supposed to go to a block party hosted by some friends at church, but it got rained out :(

Luckily we didn't have plans on Sunday and could go! They've had this block party for the past couple years and I just love the feeling of community!

So Sunday we had a blast at the Block Party. Have you been to a block party recently? For most, they're a thing of the past but not for us!

We also got hooked on a Monk rerun and watched like 10-12 episodes. *face palm* No wonder I didn't get much else done.

What did you get up to this weekend?

I'm headed to Trader Joe's and the Outlet shops down south so hopefully I don't spend too much money!
